Climate:Change Future Planning Survey
Our future planning survey secured a reasonable number of responses, for which many thanks. The full results are available as a pdf, here.
Most respondents were employed or self-employed, with a significant number of retired people, and just a few students. Engagement was mainly via attending Climate:Change meetings or reading posts on the website.
Views on Climate:Change were mostly positive, on the range of topics and the quality of the meetings, with a slightly less enthusiastic rating for the website and especially the newsletter (Figure 1). On substantive issues, there was an appetite for more on adaptation and nature, and on devolution, among other topics; and on ways of working, there was a call for more small group meetings, and more opportunities to mix and network (Figure 2).

A key metric, of course, is impact, on participants and more widely. Two thirds of respondents had found Climate:Change material useful. More evidence was sought on changes to policy and practice locally.
The financial constraint was recognised. There was support for charging a small amount for meetings and possibly for some kind of membership scheme (Figure 3). However, the importance of maintaining access for all was emphasised.

In general comments, there was encouragement to continue, especially drawing in more groups and interests in the City, building a community of those committed to climate action.
